Do-Now: What tactics do you use when you're trying to persuade someone to do something? Which tactics do you feel are the most effective for convincing a person to do what you want them to do? Which tactics do you feel are the least effective? How might Lady Macbeth attempt to persuade her husband to kill King Duncan?
Today: 1) Class will read Act 1, Scene 7, analyzing the methods of persuasion Lady Macbeth uses on her husband: Begging the question, attacking the person, either-or reasoning and hasty generalization.
2) In groups, students will be asked to identify the fallacies in the arguments Lady Macbeth uses in Scene 7 to convince Macbeth to kill Duncan.
