Today: 1) Class will read Act 2, Scene 3 of Macbeth. How is the Porter used as a comic relief for the play? Where have we seen comic characters in Shakespeare’s other tragedies?
2) In pairs/groups, read Act 2, Scene 4.
3) In pairs/groups, read “from On the Knocking at the Gate in Macbeth” pp. 468-469 and “Macbeth’s Porter” pg. 470 (Elements of Literature).
4) Complete Response & Analysis questions # 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14.
HOMEWORK: Complete Writing activity on pg. 471. Essay should be approximately 10-15 sentences long.
