Do-Now: Now that Macbeth is officially king, what other problems might he begin to have? Do any other characters seem suspicious of him? Who else might he have to kill in order to ensure he can remain king?
Today: 1) Class will read Act 3, Scene 1. On a graphic organizer, students will copy lines from the text which reveal information about Macbeth’s character. They will then make an inference based on what Macbeth has done or said.
2) In groups, students will read Act 3, Scene 2. Groups will make VENN diagrams comparing Macbeth/Lady Macbeth as they were in the beginning of the play with the two as they are now.
EXIT SLIP: Complete question #7 on pg. 489.
Homework: Read Act 3, Scene 3 of Macbeth. Who do you feel the mysterious third murderer may be? Was he really sent by Macbeth or someone else? What do you predict may happen now that Fleance has escaped?
