Objective: SWBAT read, interpret and analyze Shakespearean drama.  SWBAT analyze and draw inferences about characters.  SWBAT analyze and describe theme in a drama.

Do-Now: How do you persuade someone to do what you want them to do?  What tactics/methods  do you use?  Explain.

Today: 1) Introduction to Persuasive Techniques: Begging the question, attacking the person, either-or reasoning and hasty generalization.

2) Class will read Act 1, Scene 7, analyzing the methods of persuasion Lady Macbeth uses on her husband.  In groups, students will be asked to identify the fallacies in the arguments Lady Macbeth uses in Scene 7 to convince Macbeth to kill Duncan.

3) Continue editing "The Philadelphia Tales"

Homework: Final copy of "The Philadelphia Tales" due MONDAY.
